
Wadokai Karate Master Sensei Shingo Ohgami (8th Dan)
Sensei Shingo Ohgami, 8th Dan Wadokai, is Chief Instructor of the Swedish Wadokai Karate Organization. He is also Chief Instructor of the Samurai Dojo in Göteborg, Sweden.
Sensei Ohgami was born in Japan in 1941, where he trained in Karate at the University of Tokyo under the founder of Wado Ryu Karate, Hironori Ohtsuka, from 1960-1965. In 1969 he went to Sweden to study Chemistry. In 1972 he gave up Chemistry. Since then, he has been a full-time Karate instructor.
Shingo Ohgami is a member of the Japanese Budo Academy. He has also practiced other martial arts such as Iaido (6th Dan Mugairyu), Jodo (5th Dan Shindo Musoryu), Taichi Chuan.
He is also known to many Wado Ryu Karatekas as an author. His most well known works on Wadokai Karate are: Karate Katas of Wadoryu (English, 1981) and Introduction to Karate (English, 1984).

Wadokai Karate Master Sensei Teruo Kono (8th Dan)
Sensei Teruo Kono was born in Yokohama in 1934. He began studying Karate at the age of six. While studying architecture and engineering at Nichidai University in Tokyo, he trained under the Wado Ryu Karate founder, Prof. Hironori Ohtsuka.
For many years, Teruo Kono was considered the best fighter in Japan. After his competitive career ended, he became a Wadokai instructor, passing on his knowledge to numerous Japanese university Karate clubs. He was national trainer for Middle Japan, England, Holland, Yugoslavia and Germany, and also taught in America and practically every country in Europe.
Teruo Kono was president of the Federation of European Wadokai, president of the Wadokai Instructor Organization and Wadokai Head Trainer for Europe. Teruo Kono died on April 22, 2000.
